It uses focused, thermal energy to reduce fat, target cellulite and tighten loose skin virtually anywhere on the face and body.          WHAT IS S-SHAPE? s-Shape is a non-surgical, highly effective fat loss solution that uses two platforms to contour the body. The first kills fat cells with ultrasound energy and encourages the lymphatic system to absorb the dead cells. The second platform uses focused radio frequency (RF) energy to stimulate collagen production and tighten loose skin. To perform the procedure, I will move the s-Shape hand-piece over the target area, administering powerful energy to reduce fat, minimize cellulite and firm loose skin. For most clients, 8/30-60-minute treatments two times a week for four weeks are recommended, with routine maintenance visits moving forward to preserve their results. Because there’s no downtime associated with this treatment, you will be free to return to work and your normal daily routine right away. Dermaplaning

Would you like to get rid of unwanted peach fuzz while also rejuvenating the look of your face? Do you need a treatment with no downtime that can be worked into your busy schedule? Dermaplaning, a painless treatment offered by Blush Studios may be just what you’re looking for. This cosmetic service offers a number of benefits, ranging from instant exfoliation to cleaner pores. Best of all, it’s good for your skin.

What Is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation treatment that involves gently scraping the face with a medical-grade scalpel to remove the very top layer of skin. The shave removes both dead skin cells and the fine vellus hairs that are known as peach fuzz, leaving the surface of the face ultra smooth. By stimulating the development of new skin cells, this type of exfoliation — sometimes called a scalpel facial — helps new skin rise to the surface. It leaves clients with a more youthful and dewy face, but without any harsh chemicals, excessive downtime, or pain.

Dermaplaning

What Are the Benefits of Dermaplaning?

One of the most commonly cited benefits of this treatment is the rested, rejuvenated appearance it gives clients. The skin on the face takes on a smoother and more youthful look, and clients appear more relaxed and less stressed. But scalpel facials also offer a number of other benefits as well, and some of them are in line with what you’d expect from far harsher facial treatments.

Rejuvenated Skin

Because it gets rid of dead skin cells and spurs the development of new cells, this treatment has a rejuvenating effect on the skin. The skin tone is evened out and hyperpigmentation — the darker spots that can appear on the skin — eases. Overall, the skin takes on a fresher and brighter appearance. Rough spots on the surface of the skin are smoothed over, and the client’s complexion is brightened.

Fewer Fine Lines and Wrinkles

All of those new skin cells also help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, warding off some of the early signs of aging.

Although scalpel facials are widely known for their rejuvenating effect on the skin, this treatment also tames the peach fuzz that so many clients are bothered by. Even though those fine hairs seem mostly invisible, you’ll be surprised at how good you’ look once they’ve been removed. Your face will practically glow, and your skin will feel good to the touch. Many clients say their face feels as soft and smooth as a baby’s bottom after treatment. One of the advantages of this treatment is that it works on darker, more visible facial hairs as well as the fine vellus hairs.

More Effective At-Home Skincare Regimen

The first several days after treatment are the ideal time to focus on your highest-quality serums, moisturizers and other elements of your at-home skincare routine. Your hairless face and super-clean pores will be able to fully absorb those treatments, and you’ll get the maximum benefit from them. Facials and other aesthetic services offered by me are also especially effective in the first days after your treatment.

Cosmetics Will Go on Easily

Your cosmetics will also go on much more easily once your face is clear of peach fuzz and dead skin cells. You’ll shave minutes off of your morning makeup routine, and your face will look better once it’s been made up. Have you ever noticed how fine facial hairs tend to stand up and out once you’ve applied foundation and powder? You won’t have to worry about the appearance of those little hairs after you’ve undergone this treatment.

Cleaner, Smaller Pores

This treatment serves as a deep cleaning of the face that removes dirt, oils, and dead skin cells from the pores. Once your pores have been cleaned, they’ll appear smaller on the face. This contributes to a more youthful look since pore size is directly related to age.

Help for Acne Sufferers

If you’re undergoing acne treatment, or if you have acne scarring from previous outbreaks, a scalpel facial can be especially helpful. Although this treatment isn’t recommended for clients who have current, active breakouts, it can minimize the chance of future breakouts by cleaning your pores and getting rid of the dirt and oils that can sometimes become trapped in facial hair. This treatment can also ease some of the redness associated with past acne scars. And by clearing the face of hair and skin cells, it can improve the efficacy of acne medications.

Gentle and Relaxing

Although the idea of having your face shaved with a scalpel may sound intimidating, the treatment is amazingly relaxing and enjoyable. This is a gentle treatment that involves no harsh chemicals and no tugging, pulling, or scratching on the skin. Scalpel facials are completely non-invasive and are safe for all skin tones and types.

Convenient

This is a fast and easy treatment that involves no downtime. Most appointments last no more than an hour, and you’ll be able to get right back to your schedule afterward. Many clients even book these treatments during their lunch hour or during other breaks in their day, prompting many to refer to the service fondly as a lunchtime facial.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Anyone who wants to get rid of peach fuzz and minimize fine lines and blemishes on the face, while also improving the overall look and health of the skin, is a good candidate for this treatment. The gentle and noninvasive nature of this service also makes it a good option for clients who have limitations that prevent them from taking advantage of other treatment options. Clients who are pregnant, who have very sensitive skin, or who are unable to handle the chemicals in other treatments may all benefit from scalpel facials.

What Other Treatment Options Do I Have?

If you’re looking to both exfoliate your skin and get rid of fine facial hairs, your primary options are dermaplaning, facial waxing, or shaving your face with a manual razor. Waxing, a widely available service, can over-exfoliate the face if it is not done properly. There are a number of different waxes available, and if you have sensitive skin, you may want to have a small test spot waxed first to see how your body reacts to the treatment. Shaving, meanwhile, offers a much lighter exfoliation. Of the three options, the so-called scalpel facial offers the deepest and safest exfoliation treatment.

Dermaplaning: FAQ

What Is Treatment Like?

I’ll start by cleansing your face and applying a solution that is designed to open up your pores. During the treatment, we’ll carefully scrape your face with a surgical steel blade held at a 45-degree angle. Your skin will be held taut while the various parts of your face are addressed. A scalpel facial is non-invasive and involves no pain or discomfort. Many patients say the sensation is similar to how it feels when shaving your legs in the shower with a manual razor. You may also hear a slight whispering sound as the blade makes soft strokes across your face.

What Are the Post-Treatment Instructions?

Avoiding sun exposure and wearing sunscreen — two essential parts of any skincare routine — are especially important in the days immediately following your treatment. Retinol and exfoliates should also be avoided for the first 24 hours after treatment. You’ll be able to reapply your cosmetics immediately after treatment if you wish, although some patients enjoy going makeup-free for a few hours after such a rejuvenating treatment.

How Frequently Should I Schedule Treatments?

Because a scalpel facial does not permanently remove your unwanted facial hair, you’ll need to schedule return treatments to maintain your look. After your first treatment, you’ll likely be excited about your results and eager to schedule your next appointment. We recommend that most clients wait at least four weeks before their next appointment. Four weeks will give your skin enough time to bounce back and replenish itself after being exfoliated. And because it will take some time for the facial hair to regrow, you won’t need another treatment right away anyway.

How Does the Treatment Really Work?

This treatment scrapes the skin just enough to trick it into thinking it has been injured. That injury alert spurs collagen production and pushes the skin to start regenerating cells, resulting in the youthful, glowing, refreshed skin that many clients have after treatment.

Won’t My Facial Hair Grow Back Even Thicker?

An old wives tale suggests that hair will grow back thicker and even darker after it’s been shaved off, but dermaplaning does not have this effect. This treatment does not impact or alter your hair follicles, nor will it influence the rate at which your facial hair grows. Only genetics can determine how fast your hair will grow, and hormones are responsible for deciding where you grow dark, thick hair and where you grow light, thin, vellus hairs.

Can This Treatment Be Performed on Other Parts of the Body?

Unlike shaving and waxing, which can be done all over the body, scalpel facials can only be performed on the face.

Can I Try This Treatment on My Own at Home?

You’ve probably grown comfortable shaving your legs with a manual razor in the shower, but dermaplaning — with a surgical steel scalpel — is a whole new ballgame. This treatment is best left to a trained professional who is comfortable using an ultra-sharp blade to navigate the tricky contours of your face. Nicks, ingrown hairs, stubble, and other injuries are just a few of things that could develop if at-home dermaplaning goes awry.

Is There Anyone This Treatment Won’t Work for?

This treatment is not recommended for clients who are in the midst of an active acne outbreak or who have open wounds or lesions on their face. Clients who are allergic to nickel or who have used the acne medication Accutane in the past six months also are not ideal candidates. Clients who have received Botox or dermal fillers should wait at least seven days before undergoing a scalpel facial.

Dermaplaning can be done as a service by it's self or added on to any facial.

Microchanneling

Similar to microneedling, microchanneling is a non-invasive procedure designed to stimulate your body’s natural ability to generate collagen, elastin and other building blocks of healthy skin. By stimulating the outermost layers of the skin, microchanneling can help your jump-start your body’s natural process. Increases in collagen and communication levels in the skin facilitate thicker, younger looking skin with minimal downtime.

Microchanneling is a popular treatment for acne scars, surgery scars and stretch marks. Scars improvement occurs by breaking down the old tissue and fostering the development of healthier skin. When combined with cutting-edge growth factor serums, healing is improved and future signs of aging is diminished.

Microchanneling involves a 3-stage process:

  1. Micro-needles create micro-channels – Precision micro-needles are tapped into the skin creating uniform micro-channels. A single pass over the face will create hundreds of thousands of micro-channels.

  2. Stimulation of a healing response – Each micro-channel is surrounded by healthy tissue, which enhances the healing process. In response to each micro-injury, an inflammatory healing process begins which initiates the formation of new collagen.

  3. Smoothing of Skin – Over time, the repeated healing process will build new collagen, creating healthier skin, improving the surface texture and the overall appearance of the skin.

Who Can Benefit from Microchanneling Treatments?

Microchanneling treatments are minimally invasive, and are safe for all ages and skin types. Whether you are fair-skinned or dark, and even if you experience chronic breakouts, properly conducted microchanneling treatments will not result in hyperpigmentation, keloid scars or other lasting negative side effects.

Ideal candidates are those who seek improvement in the following areas:

  • Acne scars

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Anti-aging or skin tightening

  • Hyperpigmentation (sun spots)

  • Pore size reduction

  • Rosacea

  • Stretch marks or other traumatic scarring

  • Hair growth

channel vs needle

Microchanneling vs. Microneedling

The main differences between microchanneling and microneedling are the type of device used to perform the treatment and the technique that is used. A microneedling device involves the use of a handheld roller covered in tiny needles or a pen that uses cartridges of tiny needles; which is dragged over the skin.  This method can actually tear the skin.

Instead, the microchanneling device encompasses a linear stamping technique, resulting in clean, consistent micro-channels. This reduced tissue damage results in reduced inflammation and substantially decreased discomfort for clients. Reduced inflammation means less downtime. Typical downtime after a microchanneling treatment is 60-90 minutes, compared to days of downtime with microneedling.

FAQ
Does it hurt?

With minimal physical discomfort, most clients are able to do the procedure without numbing cream and without any noticeable pain. There is no lingering discomfort, and we have a number of strategies we employ to minimize discomfort during treatment. Post-procedure, most people report a “tight” feeling in their skin.

Are there any contraindications?
Q

If you have any underlying condition that significantly impairs your immune system, it is a good idea to avoid microchanneling. Examples include but are not limited to active radiation or chemotherapy, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic inflammatory skin disease, Accutane in the past 2 years, hemophilia or similar bleeding disorder. Also anyone with stainless steel allergies should not do this treatment. We also discourage treatments for those who are pregnant or nursing.

What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a technique that uses injections of vitamins, enzymes, hormones, and plant extracts to rejuvenate and tighten skin, as well as remove excess fat.

Today, mesotherapy is used to:

  • remove fat in areas like the stomach, thighs, buttocks, hips, legs, arms, and face

  • reduce cellulite

  • fade wrinkles and lines

  • tighten loose skin

  • recontour the body

  • lighten pigmented skin

  • treat alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss

  •

The technique uses very fine needles to deliver a series of injections into the middle layer (mesoderm) of skin. The idea behind mesotherapy is that it corrects underlying issues like poor circulation and inflammation that cause skin damage. At Blush Lash & Nail Bar mesotheraphy is acheived with microchanneling as the delivery source. I use Fusion brand theropies for a wide range of treatments.

There isn’t a standard formula for the substances in mesotherapy. I use many different solutions, including:

  • enzymes like collagenase and hyaluronidase

  • hormones such as calcitonin and thyroxin

  • herbal extracts

  • vitamins and minerals

How much does it cost?

The cost of mesotherapy depends on the type of treatment you’re getting and the number of sessions you need. In general, a single session costs between $250 and $600. Because mesotherapy is cosmetic and not medically necessary, insurance companies don’t cover the cost.

microdermabrasion.png
Microdermabrasion

Have sun exposure, hormones, and the natural aging process has taken a toll on your skin? Does your skin have dark and light spots, large pores, whiteheads and blackheads, fine lines, wrinkles, or minimal acne scarring? There are many treatments available to help improve these conditions. Microdermabrasion is one of them. Microdermabrasion is a gentle process, and a series of treatments can enhance your natural beauty. Microdermabrasion is a procedure that uses physical exfoliation to remove the outermost layer of skin. We use a diamond-tipped wand to abrade the surface, helping to improve texture, fine lines, and wrinkles and leave skin softer and brighter. What is microdermabrasion? It is a safe and gentle peel that removes superficial skin cells revealing the healthier skin below. How is it done? At Blush Lash & Nail Bar the degree of effectiveness is controlled by a widely adjustable vacuum in conjunction with the varying coarseness of the Diamond tip wand. The wand gentle lift the dead skin cells, and they are then vacuumed away. How long do results last? Results from Microdermabrasion can last anywhere from 4-6 weeks depending on the client’s at-home skin care regimen after their treatment. What’s the difference between microdermabrasion and dermaplaning? Dermaplaning and microdermabrasion are both methods of manual exfoliation. Microdermabrasion gently exfoliates the skin using a diamond-tipped wand. Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade to exfoliate and also removes vellus hair. Am I a good candidate? Microdermabrasion can be used on any skin type. Is microdermabrasion painful? It depends on the individual; usually there is only mild discomfort. The diamond tip wand and vacuum settings are tailored specifically to you, and your needs. Who should not have microdermabrasion? Micro-dermabrasion is generally contraindicated where any of the following conditions exist      • raised moles, warts, skin tags      • active acne      • viral lesions, herpes simplex 1, shingles      • rosacea      • eczema, psoriasis      • extreme telangiectasia      • open wounds      • skin cancer How many treatments are needed? The goal of microdermabrasion is to perform a progressive, rather than aggressive, procedure over a course of four to eight treatments. Usually spread ten to fourteen days apart. When desired results are achieved, the patient is advised to return ever eight to twelve weeks for a maintenance treatment.

MyoLift

MyoLift is a procedure using microcurrent with a device called MyoLift. When a MyoLift device is slowly moved over your entire face, it sends low-level electrical pulses through your skin and deep down into your muscles and connective tissues in a way that’s very similar to using weights at the gym. Once they’ve been stimulated, your muscles and connective tissues build up over time becoming more sculpted than before, leaving your skin looking tighter and smoother. Similar to a workout for your face, it sculpts, tightens, and smooths the other muscles throughout your body. As you age, your skin undergoes a radical transformation and both your collagen and elastin production decrease substantially over time. As a protein, collagen is responsible for providing support to all of the surrounding tissues. So, when collagen production in your skin starts to wane, you’ll notice more sagging and wrinkling in your face and neck. Elastin is also a protein, but its job is to help your skin resume its original shape after it’s been pulled and stretched. When you have less elastin, your skin can no longer bounce back from these events and your once tight skin starts to sag. The reason micro current facials work so well is because consistent sessions leads to the tightening of those same facial muscles which then boosts your natural collagen and elastin production—leaving the skin on your face and neck firmer, more elastic, and better hydrated than it was before. Plus, the MyoLift device also produces cellular energy, known as ATP. ATP—or Adenosine triphosphate—protects your skin from aging. So, using a micro current device regularly will help restore moisture and soothe the skin on your face helping you look younger and well-rested.

What is Microcurrent?

A small electrical current that can be used to stimulate natural processes in the body. 7E MyoLift Microcurrent Devices use microcurrent to stimulate the facial muscles beneath the skin to increase production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), Collagen, and Elastin.

What is ATP?

Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP): ATP is recognized as the "energy of life" and drives a number of biological processes like photosynthesis, muscle contractions / re-education, protein synthesis and membrane transport. In other words, cellular energy is produced by ATP and leads to overall cell function!

What type of results will I see?

Most of our users see results after their first treatment; however, results may vary. We recommend taking before/after photos and lifting half of your face to compare. Results are cumulative and optimal results are achieved with regular use. Typical results improve contour along the jawline and cheeks, improved skin tone, softer, firmer and smoother skin with a reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.

Can microcurrent replace areas where we have fat loss?

No, microcurrent cannot fill in the areas of fat loss on the face but we can tighten the skin around the area and help to make the area look less hollow.

Metallic taste in my mouth, is this normal?

Microcurrent can stimulate the nerves governing taste causing the metallic taste. This is not cause for concern and is normal for many customers. If the metallic taste persists you can rinse you mouth with water and it will go away.

Does Microcurrent Contract Muscle?

No.

Microcurrent is a low-level current that gently and passively stimulates the muscles, working at the sensory level. It is normal to not feel any sensation during your treatment. A slight tingling sensation may be felt in certain areas, due to the fact that facial sensitivity varies individually. You may get a metallic taste in your mouth area and see flashing lights around the orbital areas, which are perfectly normal and safe; lower or raise intensity to your needs.

Is Microcurrent For Me? Contraindications

Do NOT use Microcurrent If...

  • You are pregnant

  • Have had heart surgery in the past year

  • Have a pacemaker, metal implants or screws

  • Recent facial operation or procedure

  • All forms of “active” cancer (ok with note from doctor - No if on chemo or radiation)

  • Epilepsy, Diabetes, Heart Condition

  • Use of Retin-A (discontinue use three weeks prior to treatment)

  • Under the age of 18

Electrical Implant Such As Pacemaker

This is because the electrical devices use an electrical current that keeps the devices working. Since 7E MyoLift™ also uses an electrical current, it can interfere with the electrical signal of a pacemaker or cochlear ear implant. This is an FDA requirement.

Metal plates, Dental work or Piercings on the face?

We receive a lot of questions about the safety of using microcurrent facial technology on someone who has facial piercings, dental work or metal plates. Under these circumstances, microcurrent is still safe to use. In the case of facial piercings you may remove them for a more smooth facial or for peace of mind, but it is not necessary to do so.

How long is each treatment?

You need to allow about 45 minutes to one hour for your first initial treatment; an hour for following treatments and 30 minutes for maintenance treatments. You can customize your facials, at your discretion, depending on the modalities used.

I don't feel anything. Is that normal?

Yes. True Microcurrent uses less than 1000 microamperes and because of it's low intensity, it typically is sub-sensory and cannot cause a physical or visual manipulation (contraction) of the muscle via the electrical current. When using the MyoLift or MyoLift 600, as long as the conductivity bar is solid, the current is flowing.

Ingrown Toenail Care

Ingrown toenails are a common condition in which the corner or side of a toenail grows into the soft flesh. The result is pain, inflamed skin, swelling and, sometimes, an infection. Ingrown toenails usually affect the big toe.

Often you can take care of ingrown toenails on your own. If the pain is severe or spreading, your health care provider can take steps to relieve your discomfort and help you avoid complications of ingrown toenails.

If you have diabetes or another condition that causes poor blood flow to your feet, you're at greater risk of complications of ingrown toenails.

I can help you maintain toenail care to prevent ingrown toenails. Monthly pedicures is recommended. My ingrown nail pedicures are simple and relaxing. I'll soak your feet in warm water with fresh soak that softens & conditions and provides relaxing aromatherapy along with epson salts for 30 minutes then a sugar scrub is applied to exfoliate and remove dead skin, cuticles are pushed back, toe nails are trim,  ingrown nails trimmed & filed if needed then finished with a perfect toe polish. This pedicure takes 60 minutes.

Diabetic Foot Care

I specialize in Diabetic/Elderly Pedicures. Blush Lash & Nail Bar understands the very precautionary measures that go into a diabetic’s health. In an effort to better serve persons affected by diabetes, I promote and encourage preventative maintenance, not reactive maintenance. In and effort to keep everyone safe and healthy Blush Lash & Nail Bar uses single use liners for pedicure tub along with disposable pedi kit. All other tools are metal and sanitized with hospital grade cleanser between each client.

HOW DIABETIC PEDICURES ARE DIFFERENT:

  • I use products that are made for diabetics and/or safe for diabetics to use.

  • I do not use tools such as a credo blade, which can cause skin to be broken as diabetics take longer to heal.

  • I incorporate hydrating products to help combat excessive dryness that some diabetics experience from their medications.

  • My Diabetic Pedicure is 50 minutes full of Feet Love, so I take my time and nurture the skin.
